Treasure Cay- May 16

Happy Birthday to our oldest daughter!  Katy is 25 today--she never has liked getting older.  On her third birthday she cried because she wanted to be two--go figure.  She is in Charleston with her friends to attend a wedding for her friend Champagne.  I am sure she is having fun at the wedding and all the pre-wedding festivities.

We left Man-O-War early to head to Treasure Cay.

I like this boat moored beside us

As soon as we got to the anchorage at Treasure Cay, I walked Caroline and Lainey to the beach.  We sat down to soak up the sun and gaze at the beautiful water.  After a while, we headed to the pool, then to the boat to clean up for pizza night at the Treasure Cay Marina.

The restaurant was packed for pizza night.

Hey they have pizza over there--maybe I'll just go visit them

"If I can't have any pizza, then take me home."

April 16 Sunset at Treasure Cay

April 16 Sunset @ Treasure Cay Anchorage

April 16 Treasure Cay

April 16

We left this morning during calm waters and no wind heading to Treasure Cay.  Treasure Cay is on the main island  Great Abaco  about 20 miles from Marsh Harbour.  It is a resort with a hotel, marina, anchorages, and mooring balls.  It has a grocery store, post office, car and golf cart rental, golf course, and TENNIS COURTS!  The beach here is said to be one of the most beautiful in the world.

When we arrive at Treasure Cay, I tried several times to call the marina on the VHF.  They did not answer.    We searched for a mooring ball, but found just one marked PRIVATE.  A nearby sailboat told us there were no mooring balls.  We headed in further to anchor.  There were 7 or 8 sailboats already anchored.  After checking the anchor, we took the dinghy over to the marina.  No one seemed to be at the marina or at the pool so we wandered around like we knew what we were doing.  That seems to be key here--act like you know what you are doing and no one cares.

We got directions to the Beach and entered at CoCo Bay Beach Bar.  The color of the water here is so spectatcular that it feels as if I have never seen color before--like I have lived all my life in black and white world.  The sand here is like powder.

Movie Night in the Parking Lot Sounds like Fun!
