Venice to Isla Del Sol

Another windy day, but we are almost there so we are pushing through it.  I haven't been paying much attention to the passing scenery because I am ready to GET OFF THIS BOAT!!!  Okay, just had to get that out of my system.
We thought this was a great name!
Beautiful modern home on the water
The bridge tender at this bridge was very inconsiderate.  He wouldn't tell us the water level and then warned us when we asked him to open it for us that there is a 25000 find when they open unnecessarily.  Our worst experience with a bridge.  So much growth on the tide bar that we can't tell the clear height.  He opened for us rather grudgingly but I have pics to show we could not have gotten under.

Unique channel marker
View of the Don Cesar Hotel from our slip.

The wind was a little rugged as we approached the marina but Steve got is in smoothly with just one hitch.  As we backed into the slip, there was a rope draped across the slip beneath the surface that we managed to get caught in the propeller.  The starboard engine went down.  Steve couldn't hear me say he had hit a rope and didn't understand what was going on for a few moments.  He came down to take a look and agreed with me that the rope was caught.  We grabbed a knife, cut the rope and headed in with the help of Chris who had grabbed some lines and had us safe and secure.  (Two days later a diver went down and spent about 2 hours getting the rope off of both propellers.)

Within 30 minutes we met many of the other boaters here a Isla Del Sol Yacht and Country Club.  Proving itself to be very friendly!!!  Glad to be here.
