Daufuskie Island to Beaufort

After exploring Daufuskie we headed to Beaufort.  We need to be back in Georgia on Monday night, so we need to get to Sullivan's Island pretty early on Monday.  We still have about 100 miles to go so we will try to get the bulk of the miles in today so that we can get to Sullivan's before lunch on Monday and head home.

I seem to  be drawn to the fallen  broken and bent  trees that we see along the way.  I can't explain why?

As we headed into Beaufort, we remembered that we would be coming into the last day of the 58th annual Beaufort Water Festival.  The festival celebrating the southern side of summer included an arts and crafts market, corn hole, golf t, horse shoe, soft ball,  and bocce ball tournaments.  Water events included  a dragon boat race, kayak dash, family fishing tournament, off shore fishing tournament, sailing regatta, raft race, toad fishing tournament and boat bingo during the month celebration which began on July 19 and ends on July 28.  We were fortunate to arrive just before the event closed and witnessed some of the boats in the boat parade and blessing of the fleet.
