After a few sets of morning tennis with Spencer and Max, our friends from home, we set out for lunch across the Boca Ciega Bay to Passagrille for lunch. The waters were calm making for a nice ride in the dingy. The sun was not hidden by clouds on this close to perfect day in St. Pete.
It didn't take long to finish peel & eat shrimp and tomato crab bisque appetizers at Sea Critters. Meals are always best when enjoyed outside but made especially better when the view is the open water. Just as we were finishing our meal a large boat came in with just inches on either side--he apparently didn't see our small dingy and proceeded to block us from getting out. Steve got down to the restaurant dock and moved the dingy around the large boat and into another spot so that we wouldn't be blocked in for their meal.
Because it was such a beautiful day, we decided to ride for awhile and explore the area. We headed to Shell Key to check it out. Unfortunately for Max and Spencer, who were dressed for the ride home to Georgia, Steve neglected to speed up as we rolled over several large waves created by all the boating traffic giving them a cool shower of Boca Ciega sea water. After the yelps, Steve paid a little more attention and got us to Shell Key.
Love the roof line on this house! |
