After passing through canal we enter the Indian river. Typically we see roseated spoonbill located on a few of the smaller islands in the river, but not on this trip. We saw one.
The rest of the day was spent on the Indian River passing Titusville, Cocoa Beach and then on to Melbourne. Because the anchorage in Melbourne is so nice, we chose to skip out on the marina today. There is a dinghy dock on the Melbourne Beach side that is perfectly located next to a park that Piper loves. The dinghy dock is really the fishing pier, but we make use of it for our purposes.
Everything a boater might need can be found within the three block walk to the beach. (Except West Marine) Need a haircut? Does your pet need grooming? How about a game of tennis or a visit to the library?
A pelican was guarding the pier as we headed into town. He let us get pretty close before decided to fly away.

Whether passing through Melbourne by boat or car, it is definitely worth a stop!

You make me want to go!
ReplyDeleteI will have to find out if there are RV Parks nearby. The pace of this area is one I think you and Nancy would enjoy--relaxing. You would also enjoy looking for some seafood at the market to cook on the BGE!
