Graduation Party on a Fleming

Lainey wanted a different celebration after graduation than her sisters.  She requested BBQ and Brunswick Stew aboard Meandering Joy.  We weren't sure how we were going to pull off such a request in our galley.  Had we been smarter, we would have persuaded Glenn Martin at Angry Man BBQ to put something together for us.  Glenn has been known to set aside some of his Brunswick Stew for Lainey.  Check out his hints for pulled pork here.

I have a top secret Brunswick Stew recipe that takes advantage of some ready made items to which I add a few special ingredients.  Many of the guests had never had Brunswick Stew--clearly not Georgia natives--they wanted the recipe.  Just couldn't bring myself to share.  Steve gave me the ultimate compliment--"best you ever made."

A few pounds of  pulled pork from a local source along with some of our favorite BBQ sauces and those delicious King's Hawaiian buns went great with the stew.  We added some deviled eggs, potato chips, and pickles to finish off this buffet. Caroline & Katy were in charge of dessert--Cheesecake for everyone!  No one left hungry.

  2. Have fun in Camden--will you be cooking on a boat or on shore? Have you and Nancy discovered you want to run a B&B?

    1. Shore food. I'll be guest chef for a day at the B&B/Restaurant where we're staying. More to come on a blog near you! I've long been interested in a B&B but not Nancy.
