The Graduate

The graduation ceremony at Eckerd College began at 8 a.m. on Sunday, May 22.  The weather forecasters predicted rain--thankfully, they were wrong.   Blue skies with a few fluffy clouds drifted above the white tent set up on campus for the ceremony.  Krispy Kreme donuts were provided along with Florida orange juice, coffee and milk!  

The Most Reverend Katharine Jefforts Schori, Ph.D. gave the commencement address.  She is an oceanographer and the 26th presiding bishop (the first woman bishop) of the Episcopal Church.

The best treat after graduation?  Free Popsicles!  We needed these to help cool off after the ceremony. We tried the Salted Caramel, Coconut, & Blueberry.   More photos tomorrow of the celebration on the boat.
