Climate Change is Official

Yes, I suppose climate change is official.  It is officially very very cold in Georgia which is a change from our usual weather.

Now that we are in St. Petersburg, we missed the worst day of weather Georgia has experienced in several years.  Our girl Katy got snowed/iced into the hospital.  She has just moved into a new apartment with her dog Hobie.  The roads were too icy to make it back to her apartment to check on Hobie so she took Marta with her Aunt Janey to check on him before returning to the hospital to spend the night.  Steve's brother Bob spent the night at one of his model homes and his wife Eve made it home after many hours on the road before leaving her car at a nearby Publix, where a friend delivered her to the warmth of their home.  Caroline in Greenville experienced snow as well and enjoyed the cancellation of class for the day.

While we were home in early January we experienced a few days of icy weather.  Lainey and I decided to head outside and see for ourselves just how cold is cold.  It was cold enough to freeze bubbles.  We decided to see if bubbles will actually freeze like we heard on tv.  We also heard that it is possible to see boiling water freeze--but we did not try this experiment.

The bubbles did actually freeze.  Slowly they crystallize and become frozen.  It's very pretty--if you like bubbles.

Jack and Piper went outside with Lainey and I--we discovered that Jack can indeed walk on water.  We always knew he had special powers.

Beautiful even in the frigid weather
