Painting on the boat

Many of the Flemings have a wooden placard on both the port and starboard sides of the boat with the name of the boat.  We decided to make these ourselves.  Steve found a guy--typical Steve style--who could rout the name into the wooden placard.  My job to paint the routed area. 

The  next step is to outline each letter in gold. Not sure how I am going to complete this task without any mistakes yet.  I am probably heading out today to look for a gold paint pen.  The problem is how to keep the pen steady when a wave rocks the boat.
