Mazzaro's Italian Market

Back in St. Petersburg for the New Year we were greeted with less than the usual perfect weather.  On a cold rainy day we decided to visit Mazzaro's Italian Market.  We were delighted with the trip.  Mazzaro's is a one of a kind Italian market that offers freshly ground coffee, gourmet cheeses, freshly made pastas, and gourmet imports.   There are more cheeses in the cheese room than I have ever seen and the bakery/gelato section is mouthwatering.

The market is crowded with both locals and visitors.  We met a gentleman who comes everyday to buy his food.  He encouraged me to purchase the Italian wedding soup but told me to make  sure I told the guy to scoop deeply and so I received the meat balls that sink to the bottom of the pot.

We walked away without any desserts or Italian wedding soup but loaded up on cheeses for our New Year celebration!

The above picture is a large "sausage" of cheese--that is what they call it--hanging from he ceiling to age.
Hand made pasta and sauces--yummy!
We had to make a quick getaway from Mazzaro's before we bought more food than we could eat--thankfully they had just right vehicles--

We spotted this grill below disguised as a car--thought our good buddy Glenn might like to  add to his collection--

Just a little too small for Steve--but sure would be fun to drive around .
