Palatka

On Tuesday, January 12, we headed to Palatka.   It looks like there is some growth happening on the riverfront of Palatka with a new St. John's River Center.  Construction is happening on  a new Hampton Inn that looks close to completion.  The town, however, still looks depressed with many empty buildings.  We hope that the growth along the riverfront park extends to the city.  We caught this sunrise as we headed toward Welaka on Wednesday morning.
