Two Flemings, Double the Fun

John & Beth Pohle live aboard their Fleming, Elizabeth Anne, currently in Sanford.  Sanford is about the last of the navigable part of the St. Johns for boats drawing 5 feet.   John and Beth being far more familiar with the southern part of the St. Johns that us, suggested that we meet up with them at Butchers Bend, an oxbow off the St. Johns.  We were happy to get together with them and catch up.  The anchorage was a bit crowded with local fishers but we managed to find a spot to raft two Flemings.

Just a short dinghy ride away in DeBary, is a great place at Highbanks Marina  and RV Resort called the Swamp House Grill.  They have gator tail bites that are great!  On our way back from the Swamp House, Steve spotted something orange in the trees.  John happily turned around the dinghy so we could pick some fresh Florida tangerines.

John cooked burgers on his Green Egg which is mounted on the flybridge.  Delicious meal wonderful evening with friends!

  1. I've seen the boat racks for the BGE - what a great combination.
