April 14, Sunday
We took an early morning westerly walk out of the marina to
find several very nice neighborhoods and rental homes. There are several homes for sale here if
anyone is interested in a little slice of paradise here. The weather was easily 75 degrees with a little
breeze.
Jim & Diane invited us to join them at Mermaid reef for
another day of snorkeling. We walked
across the road and to the park where we could get into our gear and walk
easily into the water. We brought a
small bag of canned corn to entice the fish.
The fish swarmed every time we dropped a few kernels. They also liked to swim near the clear baggie
with the corn inside--thinking there was a mother lode of corn for them, only
to be disappointed that it was contained inside the bag.
Snorkeling is becoming my favorite activity here. I love the swimming--I know Katy, Caroline
& Lainey would be surprised to learn this-they will love the picture of me
with my gear.
The Master's tournament in Augusta, GA was on TV today at
the jib room. Bill & Millie on s/v Against the Wind come over from their
anchorage to watch the tournament. We
enjoyed talking with them about their hometown, Charleston SC. Congratulations to Adam Scott from Australia
for winning the Master's.
We spent a lot of time this afternoon at the Jibroom with
our computers. The only place we can get an internet connection is at the
Jibroom. We got caught up on our email
and blogging.
