Providence Island/Nassau/Paradise Island

Nassau is the capitol of the Bahamas.  It is the largest city on New Providence Island.  New Providence has almost lost its identity to Nassau because of the massive grown of Nassau.  We will be entering the Nassau Harbour which carries a heavy traffic load of boaters both private and commercial.  Massive cruise ships will be squeezing in as well as small sailboats, all vying for a spot of the water. Chalks sea plans also use the fairway for takeoff and landing.   It is required that any boat entering the harbor must report on VHF16 to the Nassau Port Authority Harbour Control.  It is also required that any movement inside the harbor be reported as well as departure.

Atlantis Resort is the primary business on Paradise Island, just a bridge away from Nassau.  Atlantis Marina is a megayacht marina.  Boats using this marina must be 40feet long or more.  They can accommodate vessels up to 220 feet.
