We left Marathon on Thursday March 5 after March 3 & 4
proved to be bad weather days. It was
bittersweet to leave the many friends we met while at this great marina. By now, many of our new found friends have
probably also left for their next voyages.
Thursday, March 5 was a windy day. We had waves and wind from the east all day
as we headed to Key Largo. Anchoring on
Rodriquez Key was a breeze and offered us great protection from the winds. We saw many many Portuguese Man-O-War. (I have no idea if this is spelled
correctly--keep thinking Bit-O-Honey)
Candy and Tony Kiesel, friends of John & Holly Shafer,
came out to give us a ride to shore for lunch at Mandalay Bay.
