A Dream
is Born
Mr.
Adventure and I have been boating twenty of our twenty six years of
marriage. Neither of us grew up around
water or boating. Steve started boating with friends and took a few sailing
trips to the Bahamas We started boating
as a way of enjoying family time with our three daughters. Our first boat was a Marquis. The second boat was a Nautique Excel,
followed by a Super Air Nautique. All of
the girls ski, wakeboard, knee board and tube. Mr. Adventure does all of those
as well as ski barefoot. We began
attending boating shows in Atlanta, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and Baltimore. It
was at these boat shows that we learned about another type of boat--trawlers,
and something called the Great Loop.
After
many years of boat shows, we decided on a trawler to cruise the Great Loop. More specifically we decided on the
Fleming. Fleming boats are designed by
Tony Fleming. After meeting the members
of the Burr Yacht Sales team, we decided to purchase our Fleming from
them. Their commitment to training new
owners and service were key to our decision.
After working with Burr for about two years, we discovered our
boat. She is a 1995, 55' Fleming Hull
45. We have named her Meandering Joy.
